We have a variety of resources to support literacy, life-long learning, leisure reading and educational needs. Like teachers, our expert OPL staff are passionate about literacy and helping students succeed.

Curriculum Support

Book Bundles
Is your class looking for books for a unit? Contact us with three days notice and we'll have a hand-picked book bundle ready for you to pick up and check out!

Adventure Backpacks
We have curated packages of resources and books to spark interest in a variety of topics. Put one on hold through our catalogue using your OPL barcode and your PIN (the first four letters of your last name, lower case).

Digital Library
Your Library card opens up a world of free resources you can access anytime. We have the helpful Educator's 200 database, access to Overdrive eBooks and audiobooks, Zinio magazines, and kid-centred eBooks and online encyclopedias.

Visit the Library

You and your class are invited to visit us. 

Primary Grades are welcome to tour the Library as a class, then join our Children's Programmers for a storytime and literacy activity. Stay and play in our department. Mondays, please email to book. Based on availability.

Junior Grades are invited for a storytelling session and activity. Enjoy a self-guided tour with your class. Stay and play in our department as needed. Mondays, please email to book. Based on availability.

Intermediate Grades can come for a Crash Course in 3-D Printing, and discover the Teen Scene! Based on availability, please email Chanel Craigie to book your time.

Special Cards for Educators

Please fill in both the Institutional Classroom Form and the Registration Form.

Institutional Memberships for School Classrooms:  

  • expire on June 30 of the school year,
  • are for teachers at elementary and secondary schools in Orillia
  • take 2 business days to process after documentation received by the library
