TeensThe Teen Scene is a teen-only zone in the Library. Whether there is a program you visit, or just hang out, you will find your place here.

Join us in celebrating National Youth Week this May 1-7! There is a Nerf Battle, some karaoke, and a Harry Potter watching party!


Video Game Night
6-7:30 p.m.
We've got a PS4, snacks and a giant TV in the Teen Scene. Come show off your skills! Drop-in and hang out if you're in Grade 8-12.


Watch and Make
Tuesday, April 4 & 18
6-7:30 p.m.
We will play the classic movie, you will eat the popcorn and create a connection through crafting. This is a free program for teens in Grades 8-12. April 4 will be The Goonies, and April 18 will be Mean Girls. Drop-in and join.

LGBTQA Youth Connection Drop-In
2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month
4-6 p.m.
Youth are welcome to join us as the Library partners with Youth Opportunities Orillia. The drop-in will be held in the program rooms on the first floor. This program is for youth 23 and under. Email Lindsey for more information.

Teen Writers Group

Are you a creative writer looking to meet other teen writers?  Do you enjoy writing Fan Fiction, short stories, poems or play?  Join local author Rachel Lang for our new monthly teen writers group.  


Teen Advisory Board 
Wednesday, April 12
4:00-5:00 p.m.
The Orillia Public Library is seeking community minded youth in grades 9-12 to volunteer as part of our Teen Advisory Board.  Working with the Coordinator of Youth Services the TAB meets once a month to discuss and guide teen Library programs, encourage Library participation for youth and advocate for Library programs in the community and at school.   This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours, get involved in library projects and programs, meet new people, and be a voice for Orillia Youth.  To volunteer, fill out a Teen Volunteer Application available in the teen section of the library.   


Beads and Things
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Get ready for spring with some new accessories! Learn how to make your own bracelets, earing and more! This is a free program for grades 7-9. Registration is required.
