Looking for fun things to do with the kids? We offer free programs and activities for children of all ages. All our children and family programs are free unless otherwise specified.

Late Fall Programs

Saturday Special (All Ages)

Join us in the Family Dept. for an EXTRA SPECIAL Saturday! Every week, enjoy a fresh selection of self-guided activities we have created just for you! This drop-in program runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday Special: North Pole Edition

Before you see Santa at the Downtown Santa Claus parade, drop-in to the OPL North Pole on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.! Help Santa build his workshop, code a secret in a candy cane, and create some festive decorations! Free; no registration required.
The Makerspace is getting in the festive spirit too! Drop by with the kids on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to create a miniature ugly sweater ornament! Free; no registration required.

EXTRA SPECIAL Saturday Special: Holidays From the Heart!

Join us on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a joyful morning of festive fun! Children and their families are invited to the Family Dept. to get into the spirit of giving by creating handmade gifts and keepsakes for the holidays. Don’t miss this chance to create memories and treasures that will last a lifetime! Free; no registration required.

Family Art (All Ages)

Drop-in to the Family Dept. for a fun art project that all skill levels will enjoy! Let your creativity flow with different materials and inspiration each week on Sundays from 1-3:30 p.m. or Mondays from 4:30-7 p.m.

The Eras par-TAY for Kids

Get ready to shake it off at this Swiftie social hour! Come celebrate the magic of the Eras tour with friendship bracelets, crafts, and music. We’re going to sing, dance, and par-Tay like it’s 1989! This program will be held in the Family Program Room.

-Primary Program for ages 5-8: Tuesday, November 19; 6-7 p.m. This program is FULL: Join the Waitlist.

Homeschool Hangout (School Age)

Attention Homeschoolers! It's time to connect, learn and explore together in the Family Program Room! Each monthly program features a variety of hands-on activities, engaging projects, and play to encourage creativity and curiosity. Whether you’re new to homeschooling or a seasoned pro, come and discover the joy of learning with friends in this welcoming space.

This drop-in program will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 1:30-3 p.m.

Merry Mixer: Tweens (Ages 9-12)

Join in the frosty fun at our Merry Mixer for Tweens! We’re celebrating the winter holiday spirit with a series of exciting Minute-to-Win-It games that will challenge your silliest skills and keep you laughing! This program will be a jolly good time, complete with hot chocolate and prizes!

This program will be held in the Family Dept. Program Room on Tuesday, December 17 from 6-7 p.m.
REGISTER NOW; an up-to-date library card is required.

Noon Year's Eve Party (All Ages)

Get ready to ring in the new year without losing any sleep! Drop-in to the Family Dept. on Tuesday, December 31 between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. for crafts, dancing, and a special countdown to noon!
