VOLUNTEERING AT THE LIBRARY


Teen Leadership Committee Applications Are Open: Deadline for Submission Friday, January 16 at 5 p.m.

The Orillia Public Library’s Teen Volunteer program is currently accepting applications for the Teen Leadership Committee (TLC).  Applications for the 2026 Winter/Spring program are due by Friday, January 16th, 2026 at 5 p.m.

JANUARY


Teen Makerspace Night: Thursday, January 15

Get started on your 2026 reading goals by creating your own customized TBR (To Be Read) Jar on Thursday, January 15 from 6-7 p.m. in the Makerspace (2nd Floor); drop-in & free!  For teens ages 13-18.  Supplies are first-come-first-serve. 


Teen Exam Cram

Let the Orillia Public Library help you ace your exams with study space, snacks, supplies, and self-guided study break fun (and prizes). All high school students are welcome! 

Where: Tables will be reserved near the Young Adult section and in the Fireplace Area on the 2nd Floor on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, January 19 - Thursday, January 22 (2-8 p.m.)
  • Monday, January 26 - Tuesday, January 27 (2-8 p.m.)

FEBRUARY


Teen Makerspace Night: Thursday, February 19

Give a craft a second chance this winter!  Choose from an assortment of leftover crafts and projects.  Join us for Lonely Leftovers on Thursday, February 19 from 6-7 p.m. in the Makerspace (2nd Floor); drop-in & free!  For teens ages 13-18.  Supplies are first-come-first-serve. 


Teen Banned Book Bags: Friday, February 20

Celebrate Freedom to Read Week by picking up a Teen Banned Book Bag!  Each bag comes with YA books, checked out to your library account, activities, treats, and a link to a contest where you could win a Manticore Books gift card! 

Ask for one to sign out at the Check-Out Desk beginning Friday, February 20th at 12 p.m.  No registration required.  While supplies last! 


Teen Board Game Café: Wednesday, February 25

Drop-in to the Family Department Program Room on Wednesday, February 25th from 3-4:30 p.m. for an afterschool hangout with snacks, drinks, and games!  Bring your friends to play old favourites, or learn a new game; for teens ages 13-18.
