Orillia Public Library membership is available at no charge to you if you live or own property in the City of Orillia, Township of Oro-Medonte or Township of Severn. Chippewas of Rama First Nation are also eligible for a Library membership. (By mutual agreement, OPL invoices each township directly for its residents’ memberships.) You may also be eligible for a Reciprocal Membership.
Your Library card is renewable yearly and must be brought to the Library every time you borrow materials, use public computers or book study rooms.

How to Get a Library Card | ||||||||
If you are a resident of the City of Orillia, the Township of Oro-Medonte, or the Township of Severn, please bring identification and proof of residential address to the Library when you register for a Library card.
If you pay property taxes to the City of Orillia, Oro-Medonte, or Severn, and live elsewhere, you are also entitled to a free membership. Please contact us for more information.

Children's Membership | ||||||||
A parent or guardian's signature is required on membership applications for children age 13 and under. The parent/guardian is responsible for all material and charges on the child's card. |

Youth Membership |
||||||||
Youth (14 years – 18 years inclusive) should bring identification (e.g., a student card) and proof of address (e.g., report card) when registering for a Library card. If a youth cannot provide these documents, exceptions may be made. Please contact us for more information. | ||||||||

Teachers who work in schools in the City of Orillia may acquire a School Classroom Membership. The school principal’s signature is required. Contact us for more information. |

Institutional Membership | ||||||||
Orillia-based not-for-profit, government, educational or residential care organizations are eligible for a free Institutional Membership. These memberships allow up to 10 items to be borrowed at any one time. Please contact us for more information. |

Library Account and PIN | ||||||||
You will need your account number and your PIN to access My Account online, to borrow items, place holds, and check account information. Your account number is the full barcode on your library card (no spaces). Your PIN is a 4 digit code that was created when you registered for a Library membership, usually the first four letters of your last name in lower case. |

Renew Your Membership | ||||||||
Your library card will need to be renewed annually. To renew, please bring your membership card and proof of address to the Library's Check Out Desk. |

Lost or Damaged Cards | ||||||||
Please notify the Library as soon as possible if your card is lost or stolen. You are responsible for any items borrowed on the card until the Library has been notified of the loss/theft. |
